Healthy diet, regular exercise and stress-free life key to a healthy gut: Dr Trehan

Chandigarh, May 30, 2023: “A healthy diet, regular exercise and stress-free lifestyle are paramount for maintaining good health” said Dr Manjeet Singh Trehan, Additional Director, Internal Medicine, at Fortis Medcentre, while addressing a National Conference on ‘Gut Health’ held on the occasion of World Digestive Day. The theme of the event was ‘Integrative Approach to Gut Health’ which was jointly organized by the Haryana Yog Aayog and PGIMER, Chandigarh. The audience at the conference comprised medical students, doctors, researchers, educators, yoga students etc.

Dr Manjeet Singh Trehan said “Different streams such as Yog, Ayurveda, Naturopathy etc. should work collectively and gather data in a scientific way so that everybody can contribute towards the welfare of humanity. Only a healthy body can have a healthy gut. It is an important component of our overall health. People should also abstain from tobacco and alcohol consumption. A balanced lifestyle is important for maintaining good health. Common gut cancers, their risk factors and the strategies for prevention of gut-related cancers should be discussed on various platforms,” he added.
